With a background in biomolecular engineering, my research focuses on spatially detecting and visualizing key niches and cell interactions within the intestine in health and disease. Using advanced spatial meta-transcriptomics, I analyze the microbiome’s composition and its influence on the host, providing new insights into intestinal healing in IBD. I am also investigating the role of intratumoral bacteria in colorectal cancer (CRC), where these bacteria may impact disease progression. To validate our findings, we employ multiplexed spatial proteomics for targeted protein-level analysis at single-cell resolution. Our access to clinical samples and experimental models strengthens the translational impact of our work.
