PosTDOCTORAL FELLOW

My research focuses on how cells/factors within the intestinal stem-cell niche coordinate mucosal healing in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). During my PhD, I characterized Galectin-4’s glycan-binding specificity and investigated its role in mucosal healing using tissue-specific Gal-4 depletion in mice. At the Villablanca Lab, I aim to define how plasma cells contribute to mucosal repair. For this, I will take advantage of mouse models, intestinal organoids, access to patients’ cohorts, and spatial omics technologies available in the Villablanca lab.
