My research interests are focused on the field of immunology, especially on innate immune responses within the context of inflammation and immunoregulation. Within my postgraduate studies, I focused on the innate immune cell compartment in murine models of experimental arthritis, analyzing their role in autoimmunity. Recently, I joined Villablanca’s Lab for an internship to gain more insights regarding the role of the intestinal microenvironment in the pathophysiology of inflammatory bowel disease utilizing murine models of intestinal inflammation. The main goal of the project is to elucidate the role of bile acid metabolism in the context of inflammation and intestinal regeneration.
